For a fanbase that craves petty online drama and debates on X, this upcoming season should present more fuel to the fire. Here are five storylines to consider for this season.
Freak Time
Former Portland Blazers superstar Damien Lillard was supposed to be a throwback to a time when great players did not need to team up to win. Apparently in the olden days, players had pride and wanted to “win the right way.” Dame famously called stars who teamed up “chumps” who “ran from the grind.” But everyone has a breaking point. This summer, Dame demanded a trade to the Miami Heat. He ended up with the Milwaukee Bucks. Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo has made it clear he would not be signing any contract extension unless the Bucks committed to winning. Bringing Dame Time to the Cream City is a loud commitment. The growing pains with adding Dame, losing Jrue Holiday, and implementing new coach Adrian Griffin’s system will be visible immediately. However, the Bucks have all season to iron out the kinks. Once they do, they become the clear favourites in the East.
